✨ Why I Picked This Up

I really like esports-themed dramas.

I’d also seen the FL in another drama and thought she was cute.

And the ML? Yeah… that alone was enough.

That was it.

🎭 The Premise (Spoiler-Free)

Han Shang Yan is a former legend in the CTF cybersecurity esports world who has retired and now runs his own esports club, K&K, training a group of young professional players.

Tong Nian is a computer science genius and part-time online singer who unexpectedly meets him at an internet café—and immediately falls for him at first sight.

A series of coincidences, misunderstandings, and reluctant encounters pull them together as she slowly becomes involved in both K&K’s world and his guarded past.

Short version: esports, emotional walls, and one extremely persistent romance arc.

👥 The People Responsible for My Emotional Stability

💫 Han Shang Yan / Gun (Li Xian)

Emotionally unavailable man with a tragic past and maximum “don’t talk to me” energy.
Also somehow the entire internet’s problem.

💫 Tong Nian (Yang Zi)

Soft, determined, socially awkward in the most endearing way, and fully committed to bulldozing her way into his life.
Refuses to quit. Emotionally immune to rejection.

💫 Supporting Chaos

Wu Bai — quiet menace with loyalty issues (in a good way)
Mi Shao Fei / Solo — emotional damage comes standard
Ai Qing / Appledog — calm authority energy, everyone listens whether they want to or not

and honestly, about a dozen more chaos gremlins doing their absolute best to keep the entire system running on emotional chaos and good intentions.

📝 Review

(WARNING: Potential Spoilers — I’m Not Saving You from Any Emotional Damage)

Honestly? I loved this show.

I really enjoy esports-centered dramas, and even though I know they switched from the original game in the novel to CTF, it didn’t take away from the experience at all.

From what I understand, the original game couldn’t be used due to restrictions and intensity, so CTF was used instead. But the core of the story was never really the game—it was the relationships, the emotional dynamics, and how everyone connects through that world.

What really stood out is how the story moves between past and present. Instead of feeling disjointed, it adds depth. You understand the emotional weight behind each character, and it makes the present-day moments hit harder.

The chemistry across the cast is genuinely strong. Even side characters feel like they matter, and nothing really feels like filler.

Overall, it quickly became one of my favorite dramas, and yes—this is absolutely rewatch territory.

Now… not everything landed perfectly.

The first breakup genuinely threw me off. I remember thinking: wait, this is what we’re doing?

It felt unnecessary.

And Tong Nian’s mother’s attitude toward Shang Yan? Ma’am. Please relax.

Even so, it didn’t really damage the overall enjoyment.

📊 Damage Report

🎭 Story: 10/10 — Strong emotional balance with solid pacing
💫 Acting & Cast: 10/10 — Chemistry carries the entire show effortlessly
🎧 Music: 10/10 — Fitting and consistently enhances the tone
🔁 Rewatch Value: 10/10 — I’ve genuinely lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched this

🏆 Overall: 10/10 — Comfort drama with emotional bite and strong replay value

💭 Final Mood

Emotionally invested in people I don’t personally know.

Still mildly annoyed at the first breakup.

Still rewatching anyway.

Would absolutely do it again.
