✨ Why I Picked This Up

I was in the mood for something Taiwanese.

And I tend to enjoy older romcoms.

Especially enemy-to-lovers setups.

That was enough.

That was it.

🎭 The Premise (Spoiler-Free)

Qi Yi is a strict, emotionally distant boss who enforces a zero-tolerance policy on office romance.

Cheng Liang Liang is assigned to break down his defenses and get him to lift the rule.

What starts as manipulation slowly turns into something neither of them fully expects.

Short version: workplace enemies, emotional resistance, and inevitable feelings.

👥 The People Responsible for My Emotional Stability

💫 Cheng Liang Liang (Puff Kuo)

Chaotic sunshine with a temper, a heart of gold, and absolutely zero patience for corporate nonsense.
Brings energy, mess, and emotional unpredictability into every scene.

💫 Qi Yi (Aaron Yan)

Cold boss energy in tailored suits with feelings he absolutely did not plan for.
Slowly transitions from emotionally locked-down to reluctantly vulnerable.

💫 Dean Kamiya (Dean Fujioka)

Second-lead elegance imported purely to cause emotional yearning.
Effortlessly charismatic in a way that feels slightly unfair.

💫 Ding Jia Yu (Lyla Lin)

Classic green tea antagonist with ambition, jealousy, and excellent timing for disruption.
Annoying in-story, effective structurally.

💫 Supporting Cast Highlights

A full office ecosystem of coworkers, authority figures, and chaotic side personalities constantly fueling workplace tension and misunderstandings.

Includes corporate yes-men, passive-aggressive colleagues, emotional pressure points, and occasional comedic chaos gremlins keeping everything unstable in the best way.

💫 Supporting Chaos

A rotating lineup of coworkers, family pressure figures, and office personalities constantly interfering in both romance and workplace structure.

and honestly, about a dozen more chaos gremlins doing their absolute best to keep office peace permanently out of reach.

📝 Review

(WARNING: Potential Spoilers — I’m Not Saving You from Any Emotional Damage)

This is a classic enemies-to-lovers Taiwanese romcom with all the expected beats.

The chemistry between the leads works best in the early stages, where the “enemy” dynamic is strongest. Their interactions feel sharp, reactive, and entertaining in a way that really carries the first part of the story.

As the relationship shifts, the FL becomes noticeably more hesitant and awkward, which sometimes weakens her earlier energy. It doesn’t ruin the story, but it does create a slight imbalance in tone compared to the initial setup.

The SFL serves as a typical jealousy-driven antagonist, and while her behavior can feel exaggerated at times, it still fits the genre conventions of older idol-style dramas. Annoying, yes—but structurally consistent.

Dean Fujioka’s character stands out as a strong second-lead presence, adding emotional contrast and just enough tension to keep the triangle engaging without overwhelming the main plot.

Despite its flaws, the drama maintains a steady charm. It knows exactly what it is: a workplace romcom with emotional escalation, misunderstandings, and predictable—but satisfying—romantic progression.

It’s not flawless, but it’s easy to enjoy.

And sometimes that’s enough.
