Why I Picked This Up

Honestly, I picked this up because it was a Sleeping Beauty re-imagining and I have absolutely no self-control when fairytales get modernized.

It gave off chaotic modern fairytale energy with questionable life choices and I was curious enough to press play.

That was it.

🎭 The Premise (Spoiler-Free)

Saengnuea is a sheltered girl raised under extreme parental protection due to chronic illness and general “please don’t touch air wrong” levels of caution.

When her tightly controlled life finally cracks open, she’s pulled into a world of rebellion, surfskating, chaotic friendships, and one extremely judgmental doctor neighbor who did not sign up for any of this.

What follows is a mix of parental overprotection drama, teen rebellion, weird fairytale framing, and surfskating montages that may or may not carry emotional weight depending on your tolerance for asphalt surfing.

Short version: Aurora escapes house arrest and discovers surfskating bros.

👥 The People Responsible for My Emotional Stability

💫 Saengnuea (Kimmy Chermarin Cole)
Sheltered rebellion in a medically fragile package.
Escapes into chaos like it’s oxygen.

💫 Khai (Lee Thanat Lowkhunsombat)
Broody doctor next door who exists purely to sigh in judgment.
Somehow always involved anyway.

💫 Ken (Pepo Nutchapan Paramacharenroj)
Surfskating idol playboy with villain energy and suspicious charisma.
Bad decisions, but make it aesthetic.

💫 Supporting Chaos
Dom Haetrakul — emotionally exhausted adult energy
Nicole Theriault — parental pressure incarnate
Mee Pisamai Wilaisak — grandma actually running the emotional economy
Copper Dechawat — sibling communication system: fists
Gam Wichayanee, Pookie Paweenut, Pingpong Thongchai, Kris Sakris, Pleng Niracha, and others — chaos maintenance crew keeping everything from collapsing completely

and honestly, about a dozen more chaos gremlins doing their absolute best to keep the entire system running on emotional chaos and good intentions.

📝 Review
(WARNING: Potential Spoilers — I’m Not Saving You from Any Emotional Damage)

This was supposed to be a modern Sleeping Beauty retelling. Instead, it’s a controlled explosion of overprotective parenting, mild rebellion, surfskating aesthetics, and a doctor who looks permanently one inconvenience away from quitting medicine.

The story follows Saengnuea’s extremely sheltered upbringing and her slow break into rebellion, and quickly spirals into surfskating drama, emotional misunderstandings, and people making questionable decisions with confidence.

The FL is sheltered but stubbornly curious, while the ML is a perpetually exhausted doctor trying to maintain order in a universe that refuses to cooperate, creating constant push-pull dynamics throughout the story.

The supporting cast and side chaos absolutely refuse to behave, adding “why is this happening” energy to the story at all times.

These types of dramas tend to lean into fairytale symbolism mixed with modern teen drama chaos, and this one is no exception.

By the middle/end, I was mostly watching out of curiosity and mild disbelief.

Then surfskating happened again and everything escalated in the most “this is a choice” way possible.

My brain processed very little.
My emotions stayed cautious.
My snacks remained untouched because I was too distracted being confused.

In the end, I finished feeling mildly entertained, slightly baffled, and relieved it was short.

And somehow… it worked.

📊 Damage Report

🎭 Story: 4/10 — “A fairytale remix held together by vibes and questionable logic.”
💫 Acting & Cast: 5/10 — “They tried. Commitment was present.”
🎧 Music: 3/10 — “It exists in the background like furniture.”
🔁 Rewatch Value: 1/10 — “No. I respect my time management.”

🏆 Overall: 4/10 — Aired, ended, will not be revisited unless I lose a bet.

💭 Final Mood

Watched it, sighed a lot, Googled surfskating, survived.

Would not rewatch, but it did complete its brief mission of existing.
